“How do you ask a man to be the last man to die for a mistake?” - John Kerry, 1971

It was a good question then and it’s a good question today. In fact, some of those involved in today’s wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and elsewhere may be wondering the same thing.

America’s debacle a half century ago still has much to teach us and the ringing irony of Saigon is that a major work of fiction is required to explain the tragedy. It’s as raw today as it was then.

But, at it’s heart, Saigon: Love & War is a love story involving American Joseph Sherman and Lan, the Vietnamese woman who will shape his destiny.

As love, betrayal and shifting allegiances entangle the two, the drama follows Joseph through World War Two, The Japenese Occupation, the rise of Vietnamese Nationalism and America’s damaging war in Vietnam.

Sherman saw the “military advisers” fire their first shots in America’s hopeless war against the blood red tide of revolution. And finally, he witnessed the iconic image of the helicopters lifting off from the roof of the American Embassy....as the United States lost its first ever war in.....SAIGON.
