“Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon. I am the first man to piss his pants on the moon.” - Buzz Aldrin
Buzz: The Man & The Moon will feel as contemporary as tomorrow. Neil Armstrong may have taken the kudos (and the commemorative stamps) but Buzz always was the dangerous one. You may have thought you’d heard everything about the Moon landing, but like Buzz, you’ve only just touched the surface.
The product of genetically induced depression: his grandfather put a shotgun in his mouth, his mother committed suicide. He suffered from alcoholism and depression.
But despite or indeed because of all these flaws we’re drawn to him. Buzz, the series, is a roller-coaster ride of emotions as we witness one of the greatest achievements of mankind alongside the tortured person who achieved it.
In the end, his greatest achievement was not conquering space but conquering himself.
